1.      Current specialty certification.
2.      A minimum 300 hours of active teaching in the specialty (written proof required).
3.      Five years experience as a certified specialty leader.

Certification Requirements

1.      Maintain specialty certification.
2.      Participation in an annual evaluator workshop or completion of a self- directed learning package issued by Fitness NB.
3.      Complete 4 fitness leader evaluations annually.*
4.      Obtain 15 Continuing Education Credits (CEC's) over a two year period.

*Note: Fitness NB has the authority to limit the total number of Evaluators in New Brunswick such that the ratio of fitness leaders to Evaluators is great enough to allow all active Evaluators to be re-certified. The number of evaluations that an Evaluator must perform for re-certification may be less than the number normally specified, in cases where Evaluators must travel more than 50 km in order to fulfill the evaluation requirement. This number is subject to change if the number of fitness leaders and/or Evaluators changes. Fitness NB will also strive to distribute evaluations to those evaluators who not have trained leaders during a specialty certification course or will not be directly supervising the leader upon certification.
